MJ Shaw has been a friend of ours for many years and when we heard she was opening up her very own fitness studio, Soul Fuel Fitness we could not be more ecstatic for her! Her love and passion for everything health related shone through in all she has done over the years and now she would finally own a home to call her own.
As exciting as this was, there was also a Pandemic looming around the corner that nobody could have ever imagined or predicted.
Today, MJ shares with us what it felt like to open her studio only to be shut down just shortly after opening her doors, what her and her team did to pivot quickly in this state of uncertainty and how she feels this Pandemic has shaped a new era in this industry.

MJ is a Fitness Expert and founder of SOUL FUEL Fitness in Toronto. She has been teaching fitness, dance and yoga across North America for over 25 years. As a (now retired) actor, theatre director, choreography and producer, much of her career was spent on stage and set. As an entrepreneur, MJ previously founded Dynamic Fitness Retreats, Seventh Stage Theatre, co-founded LaRouge Entertainment and worked on business development for various fitness companies. She is on faculty at the UofT / Sheridan College Theatre program and was the 2018 & 2019 Canfitpro Fitness Professional of the Year Finalist. MJ has appeared as a Fitness Expert on the Dr OZ Show, Breakfast Television, CTV, CP24, CBC, and many more!
