I’m Mo, Monique Guffens.  I worked in the restaurant industry for over 20 years. I am from Holland and now live in Toronto. I was looking to get out the grind of working 7 days a week and 24 hours a day, and I saw an ad for the Fitness & Nutrition Expert Program. Vegan – High Fiber – Pea Protein Green Smoothie

This green smoothie is a great evening snack or meal replacer during the day, depending on your goals and macros.

This smoothie has fiber, heathy fats, carbohydrates and a vegan protein powder, you can drink it has a meal, breakfast or lunch replacer. Or if you need more protein and fiber in your daily diet, this is a great pre-bed time shake.

Pea protein is slow in digestion, it is clean, no added ingredients that your body does not want or need. The protein breaks down and digest overnight, this will keep your metabolism roaring along at the same time that your muscles build. And all you have to do is sleep! The turmeric works as an inflammatory and blood sugar stabilizer for your body. While the kale and spinach are a great way, you will not taste them, to add extra fiber and nutrition in your daily diet. The frozen fruit, berries, will make your smoothie cold and tick, adding extra fiber and gives, just enough, sweetness for you to enjoy this smoothie, while your blood sugar level stays under control.

  • 1 cup silk, almond & coconut plant-based milk substitute
  • 1 cup (baby) spinach
  • 1 cup (baby) kale
  • 1tbs ground flax seeds
  • 1 tbs chia seeds
  • 1 tbs hemp seeds
  • 1 cup frozen (mixed) berries
  • 1 scoop pea protein
  • 1 pinch of (organic) turmeric
  • (filtered) water, if needed for your preferred thickness of your green smoothie

Tools Required: 

  • Blender, preferred a high speed one, to really break down the greens and berries

How to make your GREEN smoothie:

  1. Pour your unsweetened coconut milk into the blender.
  2. Add one cup of spinach
  3. Add 1/4 avocado
  4. Add one medium pear, chopped
  5. Add 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder
  6. Add 1 tbsp of grated fresh ginger
  7. Add ice
  8. Blend altogether until smooth and pour into your favourite smoothie cup and enjoy!! 😊

Tips & Alternatives

  • Use your favorite milk substitute
  • Mix up your greens
  • Mix up your fruit
  • Drink quick after you make this or remove the chia seeds
  • If you do not have a high speeds blender, make sure you use baby greens they are easier for your blender to break down. The berry seeds are not harmful for your body, but you will taste them.
